Multi Air stream Technology
The MAT technology, based on 3 air streams, is especially developed for cold stores with a temperature difference up to 40°C between the cold store and the ambient area. The 3 air streams, having the same direction and speed, are able to separate the cold store and the ambient area. The Biddle rectifier is used to avoid a turbulent air stream. Therefore misting and turbulence are being prevented.
The air curtain, which is installed in the ambient area above the open cold store door, draws air from both the ambient area and the cold store. These two air streams are different in terms of temperature and humidity. To prevent misting where the streams meet, a middle air stream is added. This air stream is also taken in from the cold store but heated to a higher temperature. The higher temperature enables the air to absorb enough moisture from the warm air stream before it touches the cold stream and thus prevents the creation of mist and ice.
The discharge temperature of the middle air stream automatically adjusts itself depending on the temperature in the ambient area. This allows you to keep the air curtain’s electrical capacity as low as possible in all circumstances.

Coldstore -20°C Ambient area +15°C
The rectifier smoothens any turbulence, discharging the air in three concentrated streams with the same low velocity. The different air streams reach the floor without mixing.
- free access which results in faster transport
- energy savings
- no icing on cooling equipment, walls, ceiling, floor and products
- safer for staff
