Cold field

Compared to comfort situations, the cold field has totally different demands with regards to the inner climate. By intensive research Biddle has developed special air curtains which are also effective in case of big temperature differences.

Within the food sector hygiene is an important issue, based on quality assurance in respect of the entire food chain (HACCP). During transport, at the auction, during storage and in the shop also, it is essential for temperatures to be kept at a constant level.

In distribution centres, stores and in shops, a problem is caused by the fact that two interests may be in conflict with one another: keeping the temperature at a constant low level versus making the chill room or cooled sales room easily accessible.

For a free entrance and fast logistics the door should stay open. It is obvious that, if the doors of a chill room are opened, warm air will flow in, causing the temperature in the chill room to rise. Biddle air curtains offer the solution. The door to the chill room in the distribution centre, to the cold store and to cooled sales rooms in the shop can be left open, while keeping the temperature at a constant low level.
